How Can You Get Better at Dodging in Black Myth: Wukong?

One of the biggest gameplay questions in Black Myth: Wukong is how players can become more consistent at dodging enemy attacks. The game can initially feel difficult because enemies and bosses can attack quickly, and simply moving away from danger is not always enough. Good dodging depends heavily on timing and understanding what an enemy is about to do.

A common beginner mistake is repeatedly pressing the dodge button whenever an enemy begins an attack. This can sometimes work against slower opponents, but against more demanding enemies it can cause the player to dodge too early or place themselves directly into another attack.

Watching enemy animations is therefore extremely important. Many attacks have visual cues before the actual hit occurs. Instead of reacting to the first movement, players can learn to recognize the point at which the attack is actually about to connect.

Positioning also matters. A player standing directly in front of an enemy may have fewer options than someone positioned at an angle or slightly farther away. Creating space before an attack begins can make the timing easier to read.

Players should also remember that dodging is not necessarily about moving as far away as possible. Sometimes a well-timed dodge allows the player to remain close enough to continue attacking immediately afterward. This creates a rhythm in which defense and offense become connected rather than separate actions.

Another useful habit is learning one enemy at a time. When encountering a difficult boss, trying to memorize every attack simultaneously can be overwhelming. Players can instead focus on recognizing a few major attacks first. Once those patterns become familiar, additional attacks become easier to understand.

It is also important not to panic after making one mistake. Losing some health does not mean the encounter is already lost. Players who immediately start dodging repeatedly after being hit can turn one mistake into several more.

Eventually, successful dodging becomes less about reflexively pressing a button and more about reading the enemy. Players begin to recognize the difference between an attack that requires immediate movement and one that can be avoided through positioning.

That is one of the most satisfying parts of Black Myth: Wukong. As players learn enemy patterns, encounters that once appeared chaotic begin to look much more understandable. The character may not have become dramatically stronger—the player simply learned how to read the fight.
