My opinion about Episode 3 of Call of the Night is that it represents the kind of episode that makes the series feel different from a conventional supernatural romance anime. Rather than treating the vampire premise as an excuse for nonstop action, the show is much more interested in atmosphere, nighttime wandering, awkward conversations, and the strange feeling of being awake while most of the world is asleep. Episode 3 continues developing the unusual relationship between Ko Yamori and Nazuna Nanakusa, and I think its greatest strength is how casually it presents their increasingly strange friendship. The nighttime setting almost becomes a character itself, with empty streets, artificial lights, quiet buildings, and the feeling that ordinary rules have temporarily disappeared. What I enjoy is that Ko isn't suddenly transformed into a confident protagonist simply because he has discovered vampires; his curiosity, uncertainty, and fascination with the nocturnal lifestyle remain important parts of his personality. Nazuna, meanwhile, brings a completely different energy, combining supernatural mystery with an almost comically casual personality. The result is an episode that can feel relaxing one moment and strangely unsettling the next. I would not describe Episode 3 as something that exists purely to push the plot forward. Instead, it helps establish the mood and character chemistry that make Call of the Night memorable. For me, that is one of the reasons the series works: sometimes the most interesting thing happening is simply two unusual people spending time together at night.
