The Man Marked By Flames is Scopper Gaban

In One Piece, Everyone in the Egghead arc is obsessed with finding the final Road Poneglyph, and the only clue we have is a man "marked by flames" who sails on a pitch-black ship and apparently has the last copy.

The most popular theory on Reddit and Twitter right now is that this man is Scopper Gaban, the former left hand of the Roger Pirates.

Why it fits so perfectly:

    We've already seen Rayleigh, Roger's right hand, deeply involved in Luffy's journey. It would be poetic for the left hand to be the guardian of the final step to Laugh Tale.
    Gaban was known as an incredibly powerful figure who could match Oden and Rayleigh, but Oda has kept him completely hidden since his introduction. Why hide him unless he has a major endgame role?
    The "flames" could be a reference to his axe theme. In his only real appearance, he's wearing a shirt that says "Mountain"? Some fans are re-interpreting the kanji and scars as burn marks from a past battle.

If this is true, it means the Straw Hats won't have to fight to get the last Poneglyph — they'll have to convince a former Roger Pirate that Luffy is worthy.
