WARDOGS – How Do You Actually Survive the Chaotic Early Game in 100-Player Matches?

WARDOGS, the large-scale tactical shooter from BULKHEAD/Team17, has become one of the biggest multiplayer surprises of 2026 with its 100-player combined-arms battles. A common question from new players is how not to get deleted in the first few minutes.

The key is positioning + vehicle discipline.
At the start of a match, avoid the hottest drop zones and major objective points for the first 2–3 minutes. Instead, land or spawn in secondary sectors, grab basic armor and a mid-range weapon, then immediately look for a light vehicle (jeep or APC).
Use vehicles as temporary cover and mobility tools rather than aggressive weapons early on — most players die because they over-commit with heavy armor before the map state is clear. Stick with at least 2–3 teammates, prioritize information (spotting enemy movements), and only push major objectives once your squad has a clear numerical or positional advantage.
Surviving the opening chaos is more about patience than aim. Players who treat the first phase like a recon mission consistently have much higher survival rates and better late-game impact.
