An interesting fact about Fatima (even just from the early setup) is that she's portrayed as coming from Persia with advanced medical knowledge, and that contrast with the steppe/imperial environment becomes a constant tension engine for scenes that look calm on the surface but feel strategically charged underneath.

The atmosphere and direction are a big reason I enjoy it: even when nothing "huge" happens, scenes can feel alive because the pacing lingers on decisions, consequences, and social pressure. It makes the story feel less like random events and more like a constant chess match.

My first impression of Chapter 1 of Tenmaku no Jaadugar, also known as A Witch's Life in Mongol, is that it has the potential to become a very different kind of historical anime/manga because it doesn't begin with a conventional heroic character who is already powerful or destined to change the world. Instead, the story introduces Sitara, a girl living in a harsh historical environment, and places education, knowledge, social position, and survival at the center of her story. Chapter 1 establishes her as a slave who is purchased by Fatima's household and gradually encounters an opportunity to learn, even though she initially has little reason to trust the people around her. One detail I particularly like is the contrast between Sitara's initial attitude toward education and the realization that knowledge can fundamentally change her circumstances. Muhammad's explanation using the falling bowl is a simple but effective way of presenting learning as the ability to anticipate and understand what is coming rather than merely memorizing information.

What makes me curious about where this could lead is that Sitara's desire to learn seems much more important than simply becoming an intelligent character. Knowledge could eventually become her method of surviving in a world dominated by political and military forces much larger than herself. The official anime description places the story in the 13th century and describes Sitara using her knowledge in response to the Mongol invasion of her homeland, which makes the opening chapter feel like the beginning of a much larger transformation. I personally think the most interesting direction would be to watch Sitara gradually discover that knowledge has different kinds of power: religious knowledge, languages, medicine, mathematics, political understanding, cultural knowledge, and the ability to understand the people around her. If the series follows that path, the "witch" concept could become less about supernatural magic and more about how extraordinary intelligence can appear almost magical in a world where education is limited. That would make the story especially interesting because Sitara wouldn't need to become the strongest warrior in the room to become influential; she could change events simply by understanding things that other people overlook.
